Challenge
Environments were provisioned by hand. Snowflake accounts and console changes made review impossible and recovery slow. Delivery needed the same path in every environment.
Decision
Make Terraform and CI/CD the only provisioning path. No console-built environment counted as done. Handover meant the team could run that path without outside help.
Approach
The approach treated infrastructure and release work as software: Terraform patterns, pipelines, environment automation, and operational documentation written for the people who would operate it.
Technical Delivery
Built reusable infrastructure and deployment automation — Terraform patterns, CI/CD integration, deployment workflows, validation, and runbooks. After handover, the team created environments the same way every time, through the pipeline.
Outcome
Environments were created the same way every time from version-controlled Terraform, and the team owned and operated the automation after handover.
